Personality
■ While it seems like he's less easy to stress nowadays, once in a panicked state he tends to deal with it by quietly stressing out to himself. (Hand shaking / fidgeting with objects/ tapping of fingers and foot is common indicator of stress. )■ Excitable and can go on long rants / tirades about topics he's passionate about. Has the tendency to mumble to himself and take notes about things. Like listening to other people.
■ Has the tendency to be either too formal or way too casual to new people and is shy to start conversations, but seems to be getting better at loosening up.
Hailing for a minor noble house of florist, Valciel grew up in a typical noble fashion. It wasn't a surprise to his family when he became curious about the nature around him and wanting to know more about the environment he lived in. It only made sense that he would grown up to be a part of the family business and was training on how to be a proper botanist.That was, until he showed prowess in reading the stars and was shoved into becoming an astrologian so he could help in reading the hoard's movements instead.It wasn't until after the Dragonsong War ended that he received an opportunity to leave the walls of his job to go on a pilgrimage to further enhance his astromancy skills; The Sharlyan style of card reading became more popular in Ishgard and would be useful to learn.
Of course.
It was during his pilgrimage into Eorzea that he suddenly seemed to veer course, causing him to abandon his studies and run off on his own to do botany work.
However, out here alone in a new land with no protection -- as he was no fighter and only learned healing -- Valciel swiftly learned local wildlife was... Well, wild, to say the least.But then he heard of an exciting new opportunity; Blue Magic to defend himself. He was already getting beat up by the local wildlife, so why not be able to learn to defend himself as well with their own spells?

Currently, Valciel can be found all around Eorzea, studying the wilderness of new areas, taking up odd jobs, and trying to learn new blue mage spells.

If you need a botanist to gather up and plant species, or figure out what you have on hand, he's the guy to talk to, if you can handle the rambling.

Val can read cards due to picking up Sharlyan astromancy and studying it before leaving his hometown. He doesn't like showing it off that much, you can probably convince him though.
If you were a part of the Astrologian guild and helped track the hoard, you may have spotted him in the line of work, forlornly looking out at the snowy landscape and sighing, talking about pine trees and bug species of something like that. And ocassionally mumbling about the stars.
If you were a part of his travel study group into Sharlayan Astrology, it may be noted that one "Valciel Garniaux" went missing. But that was a year ago so surely you won't remember some guy disappearing, and also mumbling about weird images in the stars. Right? Right???
